Flood In Different States Of India Causes Heavy Loss

Flood conditions in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Gujarat remain critical. So far, more than 150 people have died in these states and more than 1 million people have taken shelter in relief camps. 40 people have lost their lives and 14 are missing since 1 August 2019 due to floods in Karnataka. At the same time 5,81,702 people were evacuated, relief camps have been set up in 17 districts and 2028 villages.

Naval Air Station Goa in Karnataka is carrying out air rescue and relief operations in INS Hansa flood-affected Belagavi district. Naval helicopters of INS Hansa transported 26 stranded people to relief camps. According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center, Belagavi district is likely to have a fairly widespread with moderate rainfall for the next 5 days.
