Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai on Monday to participate in the IIT Madras convocation. Addressing the workers after landing here, he said that it is always a pleasant feeling to come to Chennai. The Prime Minister also spoke here on his US tour. He said, “In America, I had some conversations in Tamil as well. There I told people that Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world. Since then Tamil has become the subject of conversation in America. ”
The Prime Minister has sought suggestions from alumni and faculty of the institute for a speech at the IIT program. Along with taking part in the convocation here, he will also honor the winners of the Singapore-India Hackathon 2019 at the IIT Campus itself. This hackathon was a competition between tech experts between India and Singapore.
On the Narendra Modi app, many people gave suggestions to the Prime Minister for his speech. These included talking about the development of the country with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the use of students for pursuing higher education in India. A former student wrote that the Prime Minister should also tell about how IITians can help in making the country’s economy a $ 5 trillion economy.
This year there has been an emphasis on cooperation and complementing each other’s efforts. We have been doing Smart India Hackathon in India since last few years. This initiative brings together departments and people associated with the government, premier industries.
The Prime Minister said, ‘I trust everyone here, especially our visitors from Singapore would have enjoyed Chennai. My young colleagues here have solved many problems. I particularly liked the solution taken with the camera to find out who was paying attention. I will talk to my Speaker in Parliament.
I am confident that it will be useful for Parliament. Hackathons are a great thing for young people. This gives participants access to cutting-edge technology to solve global problems. I firmly believe that the solutions found in today’s hackathons are start-up ideas for tomorrow.
Before reaching Chennai, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘I am always very happy to come to Chennai. This is my first visit to the state after the 2019 elections. I am grateful to all of you for this warm welcome. ‘
He said that the world has great expectations from India and his government will take the country on the path of greatness. This is his first visit to Tamil Nadu after coming back to power. Arriving here, he repeated his campaign against single-use plastic. Also said that the task of making India great is not only the work of the central government but also of 130 crore countrymen.
The Prime Minister said, ‘ During my recent US visit, I saw that the world had high expectations from India. Which is constantly increasing? We will definitely ensure the welfare of India at a rapid pace. We will make it such a great nation that will prove useful to the world. ‘
