Netflix has confirmed that Bridgerton season four will premiere in 2026. The popular Regency drama has also been renewed for two more seasons beyond the upcoming fourth season. No exact release date has been given yet, but the fourth season will include eight episodes.
The new season will focus on Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. Benedict is described as the bohemian second son of the Bridgerton family. Unlike his brothers, he is unwilling to settle down. His view of love may change when he meets a woman known as the Lady in Silver at a masquerade ball held by his mother. The Lady in Silver’s real name is Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
Bridgerton season three achieved huge success. Netflix reported that in the first four days after release, the season had 45.05 million views. This number is almost double that of the previous season. It amounts to about 165.2 million hours of viewing time. This was the highest weekly view count for any Netflix series since the company started publishing viewing data in June 2023.
The show’s popularity has influenced the costume drama genre. It has brought new life to period dramas by mixing historical settings with modern storytelling styles. This can be seen in other recent productions such as Netflix’s adaptation of Persuasion and Apple TV’s version of The Buccaneers. Even ITV’s adaptation of Tom Jones shows some of Bridgerton’s impact.
With two more seasons confirmed after season four, the Bridgerton story will continue to follow the family’s lives and relationships. Fans can expect more drama and romance in the coming years.
